Update: In August 2020, Sims suddenly starting thinking and talking about cars in The Sims 4 quite a lot. We hope that might be a hint of things to come.

In The Sims 4, you actually get the opportunity to go and meet aliens for yourself at the alien planet of Sixam. Unleash your imagination and create a unique world of Sims that's an expression of you! Explore and customize every detail from Sims to homes, and much more. Choose how Sims look, act, and dress, then decide how they'll live out each day.

The new Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion pack is set to be released on 5 June 2020. Before that, the June patch for The Sims 4 will bring a huge overhaul to several facets of gameplay. From adding ladders to the return of some much-loved NPCs like fire fighters and the ability to place windows and doors in build mode without being forced to stick to a grid.

There might be further surprise updates coming with the Sims 4 June patch, too. Or so we hope anyway. Global community manager Sim Guru Frost recently said the team is constantly 'thinking about burglars' in the Sims 4, but was at pains to stress that he's not suggesting anything.

What Can You Do In Sims 4 Base Game

Cars have been a much-requested feature in The Sims 4 and some Simmers hope that the June 2020 patch will include them as a surprise – especially after the trailer for the new Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion featured quite a lot of them.

Much of the gameplay around the new Eco Lifestyle expansion pack centres around clearing worlds of pollution. But there's not all that many things in The Sims 4 that create pollution.

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion pack will add an Eco Footprint UI to the game, where every decision Sims make impact the world around them. But with no cars driving around in The Sims 4, many have wondered what will lead to all the smog and pollution. The eco-living gameplay will work across all worlds in The Sims 4, so maybe there's hope.

But even if cars do not come to a base game update in The Sims 4 soon, there is a way to add them to your game without using mods.

Don't get us wrong, there are some amazing mod creators out there. But not everyone wants to play that way.

If you want to add cars to The Sims 4 base game without using mods, you can do so by diving into the world of debug cheats.

The cars in The Sims 4 won't be drivable, but they are useful as décor items if you want to build a garage all cluttered up. Or if you want to build a scrap yard, for example.

Now that you've enabled cheats, you can use the search bar to find them. They aren't named 'cars' – as you can see form the screenshots. Searching for ** DEBUG ** will make the process easier.

Different expansion and game packs add different types of cars to The Sims 4, but the base game has a good selection, too.
